Illinois’s Safety Recognition Program
Safety Awards are given to reward excellence in occupational safety and health programs as measured by outstanding safety performance. Organizations are recognized for improvements in lost time and total case incidence rates and/or maintaining rates that are consistently below the average for their industry as benchmarked against national averages compiled by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. In addition to excellent performance requirements, applicants for these awards must have an effective safety & health programs that include a formal written safety and health plan, emergency plans, safety inspections, and safety training and employee safety committees.
